Original Music Composed by Steve Jablonsky and Jacob Shea

New York, Feb. 19, 2013 – Sumthing Else Music Works, through its licensing relationship with Epic Games Inc., proudly presents GEARS OF WAR®: JUDGMENT – THE SOUNDTRACK. Developed exclusively for Xbox 360 by Epic Games and People Can Fly, GEARS OF WAR: JUDGMENT brings players back to the terrifying aftermath of Emergence-Day, before the events of the Gears of War trilogy, for the most intense and challenging Gears of War game yet. GEARS OF WAR: JUDGMENT – THE SOUNDTRACK, featuring original music composed by Steve Jablonsky (Gears of War 3, Gears of War 2, Transformers movie trilogy) and Jacob Shea (Gears of War 3, Crysis 2, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands), will be available on March 19 at retail outlets worldwide through Sumthing Else Music Works www.sumthing.com, and for digital download at Amazon MP3, iTunes and other digital music sites.

Set years before the events of the previous Gears of War trilogy, JUDGMENT centers on Kilo Squad, a troop of soldiers led by Damon Baird and Augustus “The Cole Train” Cole. They are joined by newcomers to the Gears of War series, Sofia Hendrick and Garron Paduk, as they attempt to save the besieged city of Halvo Bay from a terrifying new enemy. GEARS OF WAR: JUDGMENT depicts the planet Sera on the brink of annihilation by an unstoppable new Locust menace, giving players a new vantage point into one of the richest and most acclaimed sagas in gaming.

Steve Jablonsky has returned to provide another compelling score for the Gears of War universe. Familiar Gears of War themes return alongside new works that reflect the desperate fight of the COG forces in the first days after the Locust Emergence, as Kilo squad makes a name for itself battling a new and unconventional threat. Imbued with a fresh sense of intensity and heavy energy, the GEARS OF WAR: JUDGMENT soundtrack reflects the new peril facing the world of Sera.

The Gears of War series is one of the most popular franchises in Xbox history, having sold more than 19 million copies worldwide, and spawning New York Times best-selling novels, toys, collectibles, graphic novels, and soundtrack albums. Xbox 720 to Launch in 2013?

We know that the next gen Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 will eventually come, I just didn’t think it would happen for another 5 years. Now sources are saying that Microsoft is quietly planning to unveil it’s Xbox 720 at E3 in 2013, which means Sony wont be to far behind with its PlayStation 4.

According to the website Develop “Multiple sources across the industry, from processor chip manufacturers to middleware firms, have told Develop they expect the console to be fully unveiled at E3 2013, months before its release. The collection of data points to a 2013 launch for the system across all main regions, though early 2014 remains a possibility.” They are also saying the new Microsoft console could be called the Xbox Next, if that’s true I think they should stick with the 720 marketing, after all Microsoft is already advertising it in the movie Real Steel, and that’s what gamers are expecting. I guess it doesn’t really matter what it’s called as long as the gaming experience blows us away with unbelievable awesomeness.

Just to be clear… right now this is all just a rumor, but I think with the way technology is advancing today and at the speed it’s being developed and released… this rumor could turn out to be true. This news comes shortly after rumors hit the net that Sony is developing games already for the PS4.

Here’s a list of other developments that you might be interested in hearing as well.

  • Develop understands that Lionhead is working on a project internally named Fable Next, which will launch on the new console.
  • Epic Games’ new Unreal Engine would likely be available sooner than the 2014 date recently given by studio founder Tim Sweeney.
  • One source still insists that an EA studio already has rudimentary Xbox console technology on desks. EA has flatly denied the claim.

Of course everyone is going to deny this is happening. They will deny it up until the day they actually officially announce it. That’s just how the video game industry rolls. The fact of the matter is the time is coming when next gen consoles will invade our homes in all their glory.

What are your thoughts on all this?

With more than three million copies sold in its first week, “Gears of War 3” is the biggest console exclusive of the year, and today Microsoft and Epic Games announced the acclaimed title is about to get even bigger with the Horde Command Pack game add-on, launching 1st November.

Taking you deeper into the fight with three explosive new maps, three new playable characters, two new weapon skins, and additional achievements worth 250 Gamerscore, the Horde Command Pack also includes new fortification upgrades to help you mow down the Lambent and Locust threats in the fan-favorite Horde mode.

Available for 800 Microsoft Points or for download automatically to consumers who have purchased the “Gears of War 3” Season Pass, which entitles you to the game’s first four game add-ons at a 33 percent discount, the Horde Command Pack includes:

Three spectacular new maps:

An abundance of high ground and funneled choke points make this map a returning favourite to Horde.
·         Rustlung – Once the pride of the Royal Tyran Navy, the foredecks of this decommissioned battleship are now riddled with bullet holes. Any team with the fortitude to hold the exposed central torpedo bay will find that the ship’s Loader has been replaced with a battle-ready Silverback mech suit.
·         Azura – This island resort was once the exclusive domain of Sera’s educated elite, but the tranquil water gardens and lush foliage have become a hotly contested combat zone. Dual snipers overlook a powerful explosive weapon, while the defensive central platform may be your last resort of retreat.

New fortification upgrades:
·         Command Center – A brand new type of fortification that allows you to call in fire support from sniper teams, mortar strikes and even multiple Hammers of Dawn.
·         Decoy Upgrade – A new fortification level that turns your decoy into an Onyx Guard bot that will fight in your defense.
·         Sentry Upgrade – This upgrade adds a fire bolt sentry that deals much more damage and is very effective against Berserkers.
·         Silverback Upgrade – This advancement allows you to upgrade your Silverback exo-suit with devastating rockets and extra levels of repair cost reduction.

New characters:
·         Onyx Guard
·         Big Rig Dizzy
·         Bernie

New weapon skins:
·         Team Plasma
·         Jungle Camo

Fully licensed by Microsoft and EPIC games, the controller is coloured deep blood red and features exclusive GOW skull artwork. The controller also features a unique upgrade in the shape of the ‘transforming D pad’ which changes between the traditional disc style to the more raised cross shaped D-pad for greater accuracy and control in fighting games and general in-game menu navigation. And if that isn’t enough, included free with the controller is the Infected Omen Weapon Pack DLC!

The second accessory, the FPS Freek Epic Thumbsticks by KontrolFreek is perfect for first person shooter titles (naturally) and can be used in conjunction with the GOW3 controller. Ergonomically designed to provide comfort and improved accuracy and precision, these thumbsticks extend the length of your analog sticks in order to deliver greater in-game movements with finer control. Featuring the embossed GOW skull logo and coloured red, these thumbsticks are a perfect accompaniment for your Xbox controller but are also fully compatible with PS3 Dual shock controllers too!

Last but certainly not least, the Calibur11 Gears of War 3 Xbox 360 Vault is the perfect blend of form and function for hardcore GOW fans. Additionally, the vault also features a striking 3D LED illuminating infected omen design which glows crimson red every time you are downed by an enemy – telling you to get back into the action! The vault also includes a controller cradle and in every box is the opportunity to win an official life sized Gears of War Cog Armor Suit!

Gears of War 3: Brothers to the End

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yeah motherf***ers, the train is back and it’s on like Donkey Kong! Grab your pair and hold on tight ‘cuz baby this train is bringin the official review of Gears of War 3 straight from XboxAddict to your front door! You think that those pieces of $hit Locust were done, well so did we until these ugly @$$ Lambent creatures decided they wanted a piece of the train! You know what I think? F**k that $hit! It’s time that we put the final nail in this b!tch and send her @$$ packing! You got a pair? Then grab your gun b!tches and let’s go hunting!Gears of War 3 from Epic games is the final story of Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG team. The humans have been decimated and mankind is now riding a knife’s edge, teetering between victory and extinction, and it’s up to you to ensure that humanity sees the light of day and prevent the total annihilation of every last man, woman and child on Sera. Gears of War 3 will start you off like a rocket, launching you right into the action, and it never lets off the gas. Your only hope for survival is to shoot everything until it dies then hang on for dear life as the story screams you through it in one amazing moment after another. A journey that started years ago is finally coming to an end and what a ride you’re about to have.

The Gears of War series has set benchmarks for its gameplay and thankfully Epic games has decided to take everything that it’s community has been asking for and inject it with tons of steroids, smack it in the face, stomp on its toes, and then unleashed it to the world. A new innovation that will change the way battles and wars are won is found in the new cover system for Gears of War 3. Before in Gears of War we were limited to just blind firing or peeking around corners or over obstacles to hit enemies, but not anymore though. Now when you are in a standoff with an opponent on the other side of cover, you now can leap over the obstacle which causes your character to do a sliding melee move which knocks your opponent back, stuns them, and opens them up for a close range lobotomy. No longer are you safe under cover for now your cover can gain you a tremendous advantage in combat. The same active reload system that we all know and love remains and now every weapon gains additional bonuses by executing a perfect active reload which range from faster fire, more powerful rounds, increased range, and more.To say Gears of War 3 is beautiful is a gross understatement and one that should immediately get you sent to the eye doctor for an exam. Epic really took their time and used it wisely in this field as every aspect of this game is done to perfection. The level layout, attention to the smallest detail, and even the total environment completely immerses you in the world of Sera and does a wonderful job portraying the last dying prayers of mankind. Pausing for a few moments to take in your surroundings can be some of the most satisfying moments you have in the game and your eyes won’t believe the quality that this latest and greatest Unreal Engine 3 provides. Every turn brings your eyes another visual orgasm and every moment shows why Gears of War 3 is one of the best looking games we have ever played.
