Drogon’s Prophet -“The Castle in the Sky”(Europe)

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
Fly your dragons to your home in the clouds

Berlin, the 18th of April 2013: Infernum, the Berlin-based publisher of Dragon’s Prophet in Europe, teases the housing system in a new video, released today. The sandbox aspect of Dragon’s Prophet will give the community the opportunity to build their own villages upon floating islands that fill the skies, where they can build and customize their very own homes.

The Auratian Sky Archipelago will not only be a stage for epic cross-server PvP battles, but will also serve as an important haven for players to rest their weary bodies after long and intense guild conflicts.

Auratians will have the opportunity to claim their plot of land upon one of the many floating islands where they can begin constructing their home. Guilds might want to make sure their members secure neighbouring plots to create guild villages or towns. The number of plots to rent will directly depend on the size of the island, most of them sheltering a couple of villages and a massive castle which will play an important part in guild battles.

From a simple ground-level shed to a magnificent mansion, residents can build, customize and furnish their house however they want. Furniture can be crafted by specialists or purchased from merchants in the town tavern or from skilled woodcrafters. At the start of the Open Beta more than 200 objects are available.

However, players should be careful not to forget to pay rent: they could end up losing their land and being forced to search for another neighborhood. But they shouldn’t worry too much: players can relocate to another plot of land with their house and furniture.

Dragon’s Prophet’s Housing System will also give residents the chance to showcase their proudest achievements in the world of Auratia. After defeating fearsome boss monsters, they can collect a part of their foes’ body, such as the head, and use it to create a fearsome trophy to display in their home.

The housing system has been designed so that residents can also see how their neighbors’ homes are decorated, ensuring stiff competition among Auratia’s most passionate home decorators. Home owners can also grant friends with permissions to access their house and certain inventory, rearrange the furniture and use the facilities at will.

Many more features await players of Dragon’s Prophet. Those interested in the game can register on the website for a chance to join the Closed Beta, or purchase a Founders pack to secure access today and obtain a host of other in-game bonuses.

The Dragon

“Change requires chaos, and chaos is ours to orchestrate.”

The Dragon is a mystery to most, even to those who consider themselves part of this secret society based in Seoul, South Korea. With agents scattered across the world, the Dragon is a force of nature, believing in the idea that seemingly insignificant events can trigger cataclysmic change — that a butterfly’s wings in Central Park can eventually cause a hurricane in the South Pacific.

Players are not so much recruited by the Dragon as press ganged into service for reasons unknown. The fortunate — or unfortunate — chosen are paid an unannounced visit by the Dragon’s silent monks, and then whisked away to South Korea, where a nondescript van leaves them stranded inside a neighbourhood of Seoul with, apparently, no exits. From here on in, players are expected to follow the clues and find the current headquarters of the Dragon, where they will learn more about their new destiny.

Unlike the Templars and the Illuminati, the Dragon has no permanent base. Its location shifts with each generation, as the organisation resets and begins anew. The only permanence is with the silent monks, who are tasked with finding a new leader and recruiting the agents and the army needed for the Dragon to fulfil its chaotic destiny. The Dragon issues few direct commands and expects their followers to live by the tenets of their society and to know instinctively how to accomplish their goals. For any new recruit, this may be confusing and even frightening, but it is the way of the Dragon.

Few get close to the Dragon’s head, and most interact only with his — for in this generation, it is a boy — right hand, who translates and communicates the thoughts of the Dragon to the body of the Dragon. The Dragon’s head is watched over by the silent monks, and they are fiercely protective, for without the head the body will also cease to be, and the cycle will have to begin anew.

There are many who serve the Dragon without knowing that they serve the Dragon, or even know what or who the Dragon is, and the player will meet some of these lost souls in the streets of Seoul. Pulled here by events large and small, they are part of a vast machinery of chaos. Their roles may be unclear to all, but they do have a role to play, and sooner or later their presence here will have an effect. The players are not as helpless, and they are given direction — if not direct commands — by the Dragon’s head, but even they will not yet know what role they ultimately have to play in the orchestration of chaos.

While the Templars and Illuminati are usually engaged in open war, the Dragon prefers subtelty and intrigue, playing its enemies up against each other and acting when they are distracted. Never cowardly, the Dragon simply believes that war is not always about brute force, but also about opportunity, and that it’s sometimes better to hold back and wait than to rush into battle.

The ancient origins of the Dragon lie somewhere in East Asia, though few know exactly where, when or even why they came to be. Divergent accounts from history provide fleeting glimpses of the Dragon’s modus operandi, though the history of the Dragon precedes modern society — perhaps even the dawn of this age.

The Secret World – We kick off WEEK OF THE DRAGON!

We kick off WEEK OF THE DRAGON!

That’s right, it’s the WEEK OF THE DRAGON!

Throughout the week, all eyes will be on the chaotic and secretive Dragon society, one of the three secret societies players can join in The Secret World

We’ll be releasing new screenshots, artworks, information, and a video. We will also be hosting an exclusive Q&A session on our Facebook page at the end of the week where we’ll only answer questions related to the Dragon!

To start off the week we just released six new Dragon screenshots, all of which you can find in the Media section.

The Dragon is perhaps the most mysterious of the three in-game secret societies; based in Seoul, the focus of the Dragon is to orchestrate change through chaos.

“Revealing new things about the Dragon is exciting for us, as the very nature of the Dragon is to stay hidden and create chaos behind the scenes to reach their ultimate goal,” Says Ragnar Tørnquist, Senior Producer and Director for ‘The Secret World’. “Not only is this a great opportunity to shed some light on the Dragon, but for a huge number of people who have already joined the Dragon through our initiation test, it’s an opportunity to find out more about their chosen secret society.”

All of you Illuminati and Templars out there — don’t fret — you’ll get your week later. For now, keep your eyes on the this website and learn to know your enemy!
