June 3, 2013 – Players of Defiance™ will notice that a mysterious illness has arrived in San Francisco, and it is up to players to defeat the infected ‘enemies’ and find a cure before it reaches the town of Defiance in the show. In the latest crossover event from Trion Worlds and Syfy, beginning on June 3rd, players will be challenged to eradicate the infection that is afflicting San Francisco’s residents and work through all new content to discover a cure in order to send it to the town of Defiance before the outbreak there gets any worse.
In the Defiance episode airing June 17th, word of the infectious plague has reached the town and fear and paranoia are rampant among the residents. Town doctor Doc Yewll sends a distress call to a former colleague in the Bay Area who might be able to provide a cure, having spent weeks working on an anti-virus following the outbreak affecting residents in San Francisco.
Today’s free TV tie-in game update is packed with new content including The Plague Sieges – an all new game mode, 8 new emergencies, 2 new pursuits, a new data recorder, and an all new mission series that runs from June 10th to 17th.

To win, fans must outgun the competition in game from April 30 – May 12 to see themselves on an upcoming episode of Defiance on the Syfy channel.
Here’s how the contest works: the ark hunter earning the most ark salvage per hour (excluding ark salvage earned from the Salvage Matrix) during their time played over the course of the contest will win. All registrants must complete both the “Most Wanted: Competitor” and “Most Wanted: Rogue’s Gallery” in-game pursuits between 12:00am PDT April 30 and 11:59pm PDT May 12.
Both pursuits will be in-game in the “Goals” section of the GO menu starting at 12:00am PDT April 30. My quick thought’s about Defiance ! Don’t call it a MMO ,save your money ! If you called it a 3rd person multiplayer online shooter, I would have been ok with it.
The show is going to be better than the game..lol
*UI is made for consoles
*Chat system is lacking
*Can’t change the UI
*No real guild system
*Mutants are dumber than a box of rocks.
*The Mutants remind me of sloth from the Goonies ! Baby Ruth,Baby Ruth !
*Skill tree’s are so weak
*Arkfalls are a carbon copy of Rifts
*No auction house too !

We at Defiance Central are happy to introduce EGO, your private implant induced hallucination which will be your own personal guide in the Defiance Universe. EGO’s are implanted to Ark Hunters (and most likely also other characters in the Defiance universe) with the below device, we did not get to try this out during the event but it does not look painful at ALL!

This has been said time and time again but we will repeat it once more to make sure everyone is on the same page Defiance does NOT have classes but loadouts. This means you are not locked into a box as in other shooters: support, engineer, assault, sniper.
In the build we played in London we had access to 5 loadouts slots which could be changed at any time. For RPG / MMO players see your loadout as a character sheet with gear and abilities all attached. You can swap loadouts at will, when you die in PVP you can select a new loadout, in PVE you can swap loadouts by opening the menu and equipping a new one. Managing your loadouts is extremely straight forward, equip one, then add the weapons, gear and abilities you want and that is it. You can name your loadouts so that you are able to pick them quickly.

Best question from Zam
ZAM: We saw something called EGO, and EGO abilities. How does that work?
Hill: So the ego is an implant, an AI implant. It was developed by Von Bach Industries. He hires you to come to the bay area to find an artifact that he’s been looking for, that he heard was there. As a matter of fact, he comes and you see him during the entire mission, so you’ll be interacting with him, you’ll be going on missions with him at times.
But the EGO itself is an expensive device that not everybody has. Von Bach is a technology dealer, and a weapons dealer, so he has the ability to create these things, and he puts it into the players to help them try and find this device, and survive the harsh area that is the bay area of San Francisco. When you see the HUD for example, that is what the EGO is doing, giving you all that information. The EGO will also update you on missions, and as it’s an artificial intelligence, she will either be very excited about what’s going on, or very depressed about what’s going on, as you go and do things. The EGO also gives you powers, the super speed, the cloak, all that kind of stuff. So the EGO’s this powerful implant that gives you abilities that other people in the Bay Area don’t have.
