Drogon’s Prophet -”The Castle in the Sky”(Europe)

Fly your dragons to your home in the clouds

Berlin, the 18th of April 2013: Infernum, the Berlin-based publisher of Dragon’s Prophet in Europe, teases the housing system in a new video, released today. The sandbox aspect of Dragon’s Prophet will give the community the opportunity to build their own villages upon floating islands that fill the skies, where they can build and customize their very own homes.

The Auratian Sky Archipelago will not only be a stage for epic cross-server PvP battles, but will also serve as an important haven for players to rest their weary bodies after long and intense guild conflicts.

Auratians will have the opportunity to claim their plot of land upon one of the many floating islands where they can begin constructing their home. Guilds might want to make sure their members secure neighbouring plots to create guild villages or towns. The number of plots to rent will directly depend on the size of the island, most of them sheltering a couple of villages and a massive castle which will play an important part in guild battles.

From a simple ground-level shed to a magnificent mansion, residents can build, customize and furnish their house however they want. Furniture can be crafted by specialists or purchased from merchants in the town tavern or from skilled woodcrafters. At the start of the Open Beta more than 200 objects are available.

However, players should be careful not to forget to pay rent: they could end up losing their land and being forced to search for another neighborhood. But they shouldn’t worry too much: players can relocate to another plot of land with their house and furniture.

Dragon’s Prophet’s Housing System will also give residents the chance to showcase their proudest achievements in the world of Auratia. After defeating fearsome boss monsters, they can collect a part of their foes’ body, such as the head, and use it to create a fearsome trophy to display in their home.

The housing system has been designed so that residents can also see how their neighbors’ homes are decorated, ensuring stiff competition among Auratia’s most passionate home decorators. Home owners can also grant friends with permissions to access their house and certain inventory, rearrange the furniture and use the facilities at will.

Many more features await players of Dragon’s Prophet. Those interested in the game can register on the website for a chance to join the Closed Beta, or purchase a Founders pack to secure access today and obtain a host of other in-game bonuses.

Neverwinter Free-to-Play MMO – Character Progression Dev Blog

The hero’s journey isn’t just a story arc – in Neverwinter, leveling up offers tons of chances to upgrade and customize your character. For Beta Weekend 4, starting 4/12, you’ll be able to pick your powers in a new point-buy system!

Power Choice

One of the biggest pieces of feedback we got was that, although a lot of other elements were customizable, D&D veterans wanted to have more say in the powers they got at each level. Previously, powers unlocked or upgraded at certain levels; players got to choose which powers to equip, not which ones to learn.

For inspiration, we looked at the way ability choice worked in pen and paper D&D, and combined it with our MMO experience. What we’ve emerged with is a new power choice system that we’ll be debuting in Beta Weekend #4, and it’ll give you more chances to customize your character than ever before.

Right out of the tutorial, you’ll have access to five or so powers. At each milestone level after that, more powers will be unlockable.

You’ll get power points at each level that you can use to get powers. Each point will either unlock or upgrade a power, up to Rank 3. You’ll need to have spent a certain amount of points in order to start investing in higher tiers of powers. By the endgame, you’ll have 60 power points, roughly a dozen points shy of maxing out everything.

Defiance ! Don’t call it a MMO !

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

My quick thought’s about Defiance ! Don’t call it a MMO ,save your money ! If you called it a 3rd person multiplayer online shooter, I would have been ok with it.

The show is going to be better than the game..lol

*UI is made for consoles
*Chat system is lacking
*Can’t change the UI
*No Crafting
*No real guild system
*Mutants are dumber than a box of rocks.
*The Mutants remind me of  sloth from the Goonies ! Baby Ruth,Baby Ruth !
*Skill tree’s are so weak
*Arkfalls are a carbon copy of Rifts
*No auction house too !

This is a  #SWTOR   release all over again. Rush to make the release date.

The Repopulation Crafting Preview

We are happy to have a new crafting preview video now available. Clocking in over 20 minutes this is our longest video yet and really drills down into the fundamentals of the crafting system. The video focuses on the recipes involved in creating a fitting. If you checked out our crafting interdependence article you would of seen an example of what would go into creating a fitting. The resource attribute system is shown and explained as it is used in the refining process for the metal used for the fitting.

ESO Preview Event Coverage !

Destructoid – “As the developers at Zenimax were showing off the game, you could tell that they really cared about the history of the Elder Scrolls franchise. It was clear after playing it for an extended period of time that there will be lots of lore here to uncover; perhaps more than any other Elder Scrolls game before it.”

Gamefront - “If you enjoyed Skyrim and its DLCs, you’re going to enjoy TESO. It hits everything that made Skyrim great: deep world immersion, build-your-own class system, exploration-based content, action-based combat, discovery-based crafting and minimal UI intrusion.”

Games.on.net – “The Elder Scrolls Online is shaping up to meet a lot of the promises it made when it was announced, and for this it should be applauded.”

GamesRadar - “The combat is also very reactive. Players will have to keep an eye on the enemy’s movements and attacks to avoid damage, block attacks, and score critical hits.”

IGN – “I’ll say this about ESO: I wanted to keep playing.I wanted to find out what lay at the end of an unmarked riddle quest I’d found in a half-buried treasure chest, and I wanted to find adventures lay in wait in the alleys of Daggerfall.”

Massively – “I’m happy to say that for ESO, the proof is in the pudding. I’ve barely scratched the surface of this massive online game world, and I already can’t wait to get my elderly Orcish hands all over it again at PAX East.”

MMORPG - “For now, Elder Scrolls gives players a great class with the Sorcerer and does not pin you down as a robe-wearing, staff wielding, grey bearded fellow in a pointy hat!”

PC Gamer – “The system is impressive precisely because it’s so expandable: it’s easy to see how new skill lines can add options to the game without imbalancing it in the way that an extended level cap or tacked-on alternate advancement system might.”

PCGames N – “It’s a fast paced, well thought out, friendly and impressive MMO game.”

Penny Arcade - “Combat itself is fluid; no standing in one place while channeling a spell or waiting for a cooldown to finish.”

Polygon – “Elder Scrolls Online does a fine job of matching the mouse-based combat of the game’s PC predecessors with left click serving as an attack, right click as block with up to five abilities paired to number keys (that can be expanded).”

Revision3 - “I like being able to loose yourself in the Elder Scrolls.”

Shack News – “What I saw was heartening. The Elder Scrolls Online appears to have a solid foundation and, judging strictly from the small snippet of my hands-on time, hits the right tone for the Elder Scrolls series.”

TenTonHammer – “Without drilling down into storyline spoilers, much like my experience last fall, the main quest on the island gave me a certain amount of freedom to decide when I was ready to begin the heist and ultimately set sail for the orc-controlled island of Betnikh.”

The Escapist - “But I will say that those three hours felt like five minutes because I was interested and engaged at all times.”

ZAM – “For sheer enjoyment and the quality of the game at this early stage, this latest session with The Elder Scrolls Online confirmed its place as my most anticipated MMO of the year.”

TERA: Rising – Over Half a Million New Players Since Free-to-Play Launch

New Model for the Fantasy MMO Is a Complete Success
Karlsruhe, 13/03/2013 – The free-to-play version of the fantasy MMO TERA has launched successfully: Over half a million new users have registered for the game since the move to free-to-play, which brings the total number of players registered for TERA: Rising up to over one million. The game’s operator Gameforge opened six new game servers just a few days after the free-to-play launch in order to meet the high demand.

Since the introduction of the free-to-play version, TERA players have created around 1.5 million characters with which they can experience adventures in the world of Arborea. The battle-ready Castanics are the most popular race, with the Humans and High Elves nipping at their heels, while the Warrior enjoys the greatest popularity among the classes, followed by the Sorcerer and the Archer.

With the move to free-to-play, the world of Arborea was expanded by the Crucible of Flame dungeon and a 3-v-3 arena called the Champions’ Skyring. In the future, regular content updates for TERA: Rising will keep on coming. The next such update, which will be released within the course of this year, will add a new feature to TERA’s political system: Players who belong to a guild will be able to enter into an alliance and vie for supremacy against other alliances on their server.
