Trion’s Game of the Year Rift Launches on OriginToday!

Purchase game through EA’s digital service and receive limited-edition in-game items

Rift™, the immensely successful MMORPG from Trion Worlds, is the latest addition to the growing list of titles on Origin™, EA’s direct-to-consumer gaming platform. Beginning today, gamers can purchase on Origin both the Standard and Ashes of History editions of Rift for £19.99 and £24.99 respectively, and join fellow Ascended from around the globe in the fight against the planes. For a limited time, purchasing through Origin gets new Rift players in-game bonuses – the adorable Screechling Vanity Pet and the Ascended Gift Pack, a goodie bag filled with stat-bumping treats that give players the edge they need to vanquish the Blood Storm.
Ascended Gift Pack includes:

o Spirit Woven Backpack – 10 slot bag
o Essence of Magic (10) – Restores a small amount of mana
o Essence of Health (10) – Restores a small amount of health
o Soul Nectar (20) – Restores a moderate amount of health and mana over 10 seconds
o Words of Might (5) – Temporarily increases Dexterity, Strength, Intelligence, and Wisdom

Rift, Trion’s debut title, was widely acclaimed on its release in March 2011 and has recently garnered a number of international accolades, including MMORPG.com’s “Game of the Year”, and IGN.com’s “Best MMO Game” of 2011. The development team is currently working on the seventh major patch for the game, which will be available soon.

Trion Announces Free Rift Weekend and Account Upgrade !

New “Ashes of History” edition saddles up a spider mount and introduces Bogling banker

Beginning today, new and returning players of Trion Worlds’ MMORPG Rift™ can experience five major updates worth of content, including the massive new Ashes of History patch, for free this entire weekend. Over the past six months, the Rift development team has maintained an unprecedented post-launch content schedule, introducing three epic raids, a PvP warfront, duo dungeon content, countless updates and improvements, and much more. The free gameplay lasts from 5:30pm BST on Thursday, October 13^th through 5:00 pm BST, Monday October 17^th.
Players can get reacquainted with Rift in style with the new Ashes of History Upgrade and Collector’s Edition, available for £5/€5 and £24.99/€24.99 respectively. After applying the upgrade, subscribers will be able to summon Moneybags, a personal banker, ride Spindrel, a terrifying spider mount (because eight legs are better than four), and show off faction pride with a new tabard. The Ashes of History Collector’s Edition includes the new items, plus the Rift client and one month of game time.

RIF Community – Ashes of History World Event DELAYED !

Update 4:30PM PDT 10/12 – The start of the world event has been delayed due to concerns over possible performance issues that arose during the opening in EU earlier today. Beginning tomorrow Rift™ players will face the combined forces of Earth and Fire in the game’s latest World Event, the Ashes of History. Wanton and Golden Maw cultists have joined forces to find and transport mysterious artifacts across the Telaran sea, and it’s up to Ascended to discover what the slaves of Laethys and Maelforge are plotting out beyond the horizon. Ashes of History features new daily quests, rifts, and invasions that offer Magma Opals, currency that can be used to purchase scorching rewards, including rare and epic weapons, a glittering oreling companion, and the fearsome Ash Strider mount.
