Level Designer Tyler Buser introduces pilots to the new Facility map, coming May 9 with the Facility Update!
https://community.playhawken.com/news…
—
Deep in the Heidron District, this Sentium location is one of many resource extraction facilities built to harvest and process rare floating rock minerals. Set above the sprawling Haran cavorite mines, this facility finds itself isolated by a vast and deadly desert landscape that few dare to cross.
Facility is a symmetrical level. In the center of the environment lies the structure itself which boasts open air platforms above and tight interiors below. The missile silo’s triangular layout ensures that no capture point is ever too far to engage nor too safe to leave undefended.
The apex of the facility is both a powerful but vulnerable position. Be sure to harass snipers that take this position to keep them running for cover. Though dangerously exposed and uncertain, taking the high point is possible with a direct approach and brute force. Instead, players would be wise to utilize the facility’s interior to quickly access the roof and surprise unlucky snipers.
The facility’s central chamber has many entrances and exits. These routes make the interior a great means to traverse the complex without being noticed. However, these concealed routes can also attract heavier mechs that take advantage of the tight spaces, allowing them to corner and overwhelm their opponents.
The facility’s front missile silo features an exposed battlement that is a favorite of Rocketeers. While it can be easily flanked by the many converging paths that lead to it, if locked down this point can greatly influence the entire battle.

The Infinity Engine games were known for their art, and we wanted to hit the high standard of visual quality established by games like the Icewind Dale series. We also wanted to introduce dynamic elements into the environment that were mostly absent from the classic games, like dynamic water, movement in foliage, and dynamic lighting of the scene.
In a 2D game, this required our programmers and artists to come up with some creative solutions. What they came up with surprised us initially and it continues to amaze us. While we are still working on refining some of the dynamic elements, we’re very happy with the progress we’ve been able to make and hope you feel the same way. Special thanks to Hector Espinoza, our lead environment artist, and Michael Edwards, our rendering programmer, who did a lot of amazing work to bring this environment to life.

Zagreb, Croatia – 5th of March 2013.
Dreamatrix’s fantasy action RPG, Legends of Dawn, has been selected as one of many great titles to be included in the February 26, 2013, round of Greenlit games by Valve Software’s Steam.

It’s been a long road to this point for a small independent developer. The support that Legends of Dawn has received has been great. After the succesful Kickstarter campaign in January the fans and supporters continued to vote up on Steam’s Greenlight where it went from the bottom of the very long list of over 1000 titles to the chosen few within just 65 days http://store.steampowered.com/news/10029
The final steps are being taken to get Legends of Dawn to the public, which just boils down to finalizing the voice-overs and touch-ups at this point.
Those who did not have a chance to back Legends of Dawn on Kickstarter can still pre-order it at http://www.dreamatrix.net for the same small contribution which was available to Kickstarter backers.

About the Legends of Dawn
Legends Of Dawn is an 3D, open-world RPG for PC, set in a new fantasy world. What sets Legends of Dawn apart is the freedom of play expressed in several key attributes that are rarely seen in a typical RPG. The team has poured passion and creativity into taking gamers on an enthralling ride away from wearisome reality into the magic world of Narr. Legends of Dawn does not force players to choose class like in most other RPG.

Another quality that makes Legends of Dawn interesting is the freedom of direction and movement. Most games force a player to follow the main storyline and forbid any deviation, or significant veering off the set course. In Legends of Dawn players are free to wander wherever tickles their fancy within the continent, without limitations, under one condition – staying alive. This is not a game to appeal to casual gamers, it is a hardcore fantasy game with a large, diverse world filled with a lot of dangers, intrigue and mystery. Another interesting feature of the game is a system of personalized spells built with magic runestones. By pleasing gods with offerings and sacrifices, players can create their own magic spells.
